Costa’s contract has a €75 million release clause, but it seems Porto might be open to negotiating for a fee closer to €60 million about £51 million — a price that United could realistically afford if they manage to generate some funds through player sales.
Known for his modern goalkeeping style, Costa boasts impressive shot-stopping skills along with great composure and quality on the ball, traits that could significantly enhance United’s build-up play from the back.
However, any potential move for Costa likely hinges on whether United can offload Onana during the transfer window. If a deal goes through, Costa could very well become the new number one for United.
