Rashford names one reason why Hansi Flick is the best coach he has worked with

In his debut interview with Spanish outlets SPORT and El Periódico, Marcus Rashford lauded Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, calling him the most exceptional talent he’s ever shared the pitch with.

The English forward, who moved to Barcelona this summer, spoke glowingly of the 18-year-old winger, forecasting a stellar career that could culminate in a Ballon d’Or.

“Lamine, as a person, is just an 18-year-old kid—always cheerful, cracking jokes, and bringing energy. As a player, he’s phenomenal,” Rashford said. “What stands out is his maturity. The way he thinks and plays is far beyond his age. Absolutely, he’s got what it takes. If he doesn’t claim the Ballon d’Or this year, it’s only a matter of time.”

Rashford, thrilled to be part of a squad brimming with young stars like Yamal, also highlighted Pedri as a standout favorite. He stressed that finding joy in the game and securing regular minutes are crucial for settling in at Barça.

“I play to win, and to do that, I need to be in a good headspace. That’s when I’m at my best,” he said, underscoring his eagerness to shine alongside Barcelona’s rising stars as the season progresses.

Rashford concluded that, in terms of talent utilisation, Hansi Flick is really special and one of the best he has worked with.
