The transfer window is now open, and Premier League clubs are already busy bolstering their squads ahead of next season. Manchester United are likely to be among the busiest top-flight clubs over the coming weeks, with manager Erik ten Hag expected to delve into the transfer market before next term.
According to L’Equipe via The Express, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal have registered their interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons. Additionally, German giants Bayern Munich are said to have reached out to PSG regarding the player.
Simons, 21, departed PSG as a teenager to join Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, before the French champions triggered a £5 million buy-back clause in his PSV contract last summer. Upon returning to the French capital, Simons was immediately sent out on loan to German side RB Leipzig, where he enjoyed an impressive season for the Bundesliga outfit last term. He made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring ten goals and registering 15 assists.
Despite attracting interest from several clubs across Europe, the report claims that PSG have no intention of selling Simons this summer. Instead, they will look to loan him out for another season to continue his development.
Simons is currently on international duty with the Netherlands at Euro 2024. Already a regular for the Netherlands, he has made 14 senior appearances for his country and expects to be involved in the Euros over the coming month.
