Burundi Triumphs Over Burkina Faso in Hard-Fought Encounter

The thirteenth day of October,2024 was a day of blissful encounter between Burundi and Burkina Faso at the Stade de l’Amitie. It was a match which ended in a 2-0 win for Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso had topped their group with ten points, while Burundi held the third place with three points. Now with Burkina Faso dominating the game and with their win, they had secured a strong position at the top of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group. Though lately, Burundi has had series of mixed results of a win, two draws and two losses in their last five matches. They had also previously lost all their matches against Burkina Faso.

 

At the end of the match, Burkina Faso emerged with a blissful victory of 2-0, with respect to M. Konate’s 5th minute goal and B. Traore’s 94th minute penalty goal. During the match, Burkina Faso’s defense held a strong solid ground, as they continuously denied Burundi all scoring opportunities. Throughout the match, the Burkina Faso team made sure they dominated the match, as they amazed the spectators with their attacking skills and defensive strategy.

 

The goal of M. Konate in the fifth minute showed an early start, as it was a wonderful start technique they had applied, as it helped them gain motivation that guided them throughout the match. Just at the extra time of the second half, B. Traore had sealed their win against Burundi, with the second goal through a penalty opportunity given to them. At the end of the match, Issa Kabore was being given the player of the match, because of his amazing performance and excellent role played during the match.

The both teams sustained two yellow cards, Burkina Faso had one yellow card, while Burundi also had one. Burkina Faso also had the highest number of fouls by 16, while Burundi had 12 fouls. The number of substitutions held in the match was 9 times. The trilling outcome of this match assures Burkina Faso of a strong held position in their qualifying group of the Africa Cup of Nations. Also, another point worth notable is that ever since the coming of Burkina Faso’s new coach in March. Mr. Brama Traore, had made sure the team has been under a strong formation which always results to their subsequent wins. Now, Burundi will need to restragetize and focus on their next match so as to increase their chances of qualifying. Though, they had tried their best in the match, but Burkina Faso’s defense squad had disengaged all of their chances of scoring a goal. It is a good motivation to improve their attacking skills and do better in upcoming matches.
