Hansi Flick’s arrival at FC Barcelona has sparked a notable improvement in several players across the squad. While the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal drew most of the attention, other less prominent players also raised their level under the German coach.
One of the most improved has been Ferran Torres, who, despite not being a regular starter, proved reliable when filling in for Lewandowski. Another standout has been midfielder Fermín López, who ended the 2024/25 season on a high. He registered 8 goals and 11 assists across 46 appearances in all competitions, showing maturity and consistency in his performances.
Despite his rise, López’s place in the starting lineup next season is not guaranteed. Barcelona’s midfield remains highly competitive, and that uncertainty has attracted interest from top European clubs.

According to Ben Jacobs (via Mundo Deportivo), Bayern Munich have approached López and offered him a more prominent role within their project. The Bundesliga club is reportedly ready to invest up to €50 million for the midfielder. However, López has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona at this point in his career.
In addition to Bayern, Saudi club Al-Ahli have also submitted a significant offer. Still, López is not interested in making a move to the Saudi Pro League.
López’s commitment to Barcelona remains strong. The 21-year-old signed a contract extension in October 2024 that ties him to the club until 2029 and includes a €500 million release clause. A La Masia graduate, he joined Barcelona’s youth setup at the age of 13 and has gradually worked his way up. His loan spell at Linares in the 2022/23 season proved to be a turning point, as he recorded 12 goals and 4 assists while gaining valuable senior experience in the Primera RFEF.
As of now, López is determined to fight for his place at Barcelona and continue growing under Flick’s guidance.
