England’s U19 camp has been filled with competitive spirit, and not just on the pitch. Manchester City’s Divine Mukasa and Arsenal’s Max Dowman recently found themselves in a playful rivalry off the field, with both players engaging in a series of friendly games that sparked plenty of banter among teammates.
In one instance, Mukasa had to apologise to Dowman after losing a heated game of FIFA. The young midfielder took it sportingly, recording a light-hearted message:
“I’m very sorry, and I won’t be wasting your time again.”
The apology came with plenty of laughs, showing the camaraderie between the two talented youngsters.
But Dowman wasn’t going to have the last laugh for long. Later at camp, the Arsenal midfielder was on the receiving end, this time in table tennis, where Mukasa came out on top. Dowman was filmed issuing his own apology to the City star:
“I’m sorry Divine, for wasting your time. You’re the best table tennis player here.”
The exchanges have quickly gone viral among fans, with many enjoying the light-hearted competition between the pair. It’s a refreshing reminder of the fun side of football, as England’s next generation of stars continue to build chemistry both on and off the field.
With Mukasa and Dowman already making names for themselves at Manchester City and Arsenal respectively, these moments of humour show their humility and camaraderie—qualities that will serve them well as they aim for future success with club and country.
