“I’m Not Concerned” — Manchester United Fans Stunned by Amorim’s Response to Sack Rumours

Manchester United is once again left grappling for answers after a disappointing performance against Brentford, which was riddled with disorganization, defensive blunders, and a lack of control during crucial moments.

Despite stepping onto the pitch with hopes of gaining some momentum, United found themselves outplayed for significant stretches, struggling to find their rhythm against a well-organized Brentford team that took full advantage of every loose ball and broken play.

While there were glimpses of promise from United, especially during quick attacking transitions, their failure to win duels, track second balls, or handle set-piece pressure ultimately proved costly. Brentford’s direct style consistently disrupted United’s defensive setup, leading to hasty clearances and exposing weaknesses that have become all too familiar this season.

After the match, manager Rúben Amorim offered one of his most honest evaluations yet, candidly admitting that his team failed to assert their style of play.

“The feeling is always the same. Of course we want to win. I think we didn’t control the game. We played the game of Brentford. Really confused. Second balls, first balls, set pieces… and all the crucial moments they were against us. Tough to lose again, but we need to think about the next one.”

Defensive Issues Still Linger

United has now conceded in every league match this season, a trend that’s starting to define their campaign. When asked about the ongoing defensive issues, Amorim expressed his frustration that the hard work put in during training isn’t translating to matchday performances.

“The first ball was a long ball after a recovery. We work on that during the week. Set pieces, we work on that also. We knew that the long balls and then first touch and they have the opportunity, and the goals were like we were doing during the week. We need to do better.”

Despite moments of possession and territorial pressure, United failed to sustain control over the match. Too often, they were dragged into Brentford’s chaotic style of play rather than dictating tempo themselves.

“Today we didn’t play our game. Some moments we had control of the game, we pushed the opponent to the back. But the game was more or less always the same — really second balls, won balls — and we need to play our game, not the opponent’s game. They were stronger on that.”

Pressure Mounting, but Amorim Remains Calm

With results stagnating, questions have naturally emerged over Amorim’s position. However, the Portuguese coach dismissed concerns over his job security, insisting he remains focused only on performance.

“I’m not concerned. That is not my decision. I will do the best I can in every minute I am here, so I’m never concerned about my job — I’m not that kind of guy.”

Still, he acknowledged the scrutiny that comes with managing a club of United’s stature.

“It’s always the same. To lose in this kind of club — it hurts a lot. We need to think about the next one.”

Sunderland Becomes Critical

With the international break looming, United’s next fixture against Sunderland now carries heightened importance. Amorim stressed that every match carries equal weight — but he knows momentum is badly needed.

“Everything is important in this club. It is not just the games at home or whatever. We need to win every game, and we are not doing that.”
