Jack Grealish Trolls Manchester City and Pep Guardiola in Now-Deleted Instagram Post

Jack Grealish has stirred up controversy after seemingly trolling Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola with a now-deleted Instagram post, shortly after his parent club’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday evening.

The England international, who is currently on loan at Everton, shared a screenshot showing a Google search result about his playing time at City. The search highlighted that his last run of three or more consecutive starts came back in September 2024. Grealish added his own caption to the post, writing: “Feels so good to finally play 3 games in a row 🥰💙.”

The post, which was quickly deleted, has been widely interpreted as a thinly-veiled dig at Guardiola and the

limited opportunities he was given at Manchester City. During his time at the Etihad, Grealish often found himself rotating in and out of the starting XI, struggling to secure a consistent run of games despite his £100 million transfer from Aston Villa in 2021.

Since moving to Everton on loan, however, the 29-year-old has enjoyed more regular football, featuring heavily under Sean Dyche as the Toffees battle to secure safety in the Premier League.

His apparent jab at City highlights the frustrations he endured during his time under Guardiola, where squad rotation and competition for places limited his rhythm and consistency.

The timing of the post immediately after City’s loss to Brighton has only fueled speculation that Grealish wanted to send a message to his former manager and club.

While he quickly deleted the story, screenshots have already gone viral, sparking debate among fans over whether his comments were justified or disrespectful.

For now, Grealish seems to be enjoying his new chapter at Everton, but his social media slip-up has ensured that his ties with Manchester City remain firmly in the spotlight.
