Liverpool’s hopes of landing Marc Guehi may be fading fast, with reports suggesting the Crystal Palace star is keen on a switch to Barcelona.
The Reds were extremely active in the summer transfer market, bringing in eight new players as the board backed Arne Slot, who delivered the Premier League title in his debut campaign. Major arrivals included Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Alexander Isak, alongside two reserve goalkeepers.
Adding Guehi would have capped off what was already a strong window, but negotiations with Crystal Palace collapsed at the final hurdle. Liverpool had agreed a £35m fee, and the England international was undergoing his medical when Palace suddenly pulled out of the deal.
Now, with Barcelona showing concrete interest and Guehi himself reportedly excited by the chance to play alongside teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, Liverpool could find it increasingly difficult to revive their pursuit in upcoming windows.
