Manchester United and Newcastle United are locked in a fierce battle for RB Leipzig star striker Benjamin Šeško — and the Red Devils may have just taken the lead.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Manchester United have now made their move, presenting Šeško with clear figures and a detailed vision of their long-term project. The 21-year-old Slovenian striker is said to be “impressed” by the effort United have put into convincing him, sparking belief that he could choose Old Trafford over a move to St. James’ Park.
“Manchester United are not giving up on Benjamin Šeško,” Plettenberg posted. “They’ve presented the player with clear figures and their project. Šeško is impressed by United’s efforts.”
Newcastle Still in the Race
Newcastle are by no means out of the picture. As reported by Santi Aouna, the Magpies are preparing an official opening bid of around €72–74 million, and currently remain the most serious contenders to sign the RB Leipzig forward.
Aouna added that while Manchester United are also in the race, Newcastle have taken concrete steps and are ready to submit their offer imminently.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also weighed in on the saga, confirming the competition between both English clubs:

RB Leipzig are holding firm in negotiations, with the Bundesliga side demanding at least €80 million for Šeško, who scored 18 goals across all competitions last season.
