Manchester United Lead Race for Bryan Mbeumo as Tottenham Enters the Frame

Manchester United are edging closer to securing the signature of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, despite late interest from Tottenham Hotspur. According to sources close to the negotiations, United have already reached a verbal agreement with the 25-year-old Cameroon international, who has given his approval to join the Red Devils this summer.

Mbeumo, a key figure for Brentford in recent Premier League seasons, has drawn widespread attention for his consistency, pace, and attacking versatility. With 20 goals and 8 assists in the 2024/25 campaign despite an injury setback, Mbeumo remains one of the most exciting attacking talents outside the traditional “big six.”

Tottenham, now under the guidance of newly appointed manager Thomas Frank, are keen on reuniting with the player he helped develop at Brentford. Spurs have identified Mbeumo as a key target to strengthen their right-wing options, especially amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of some of their attacking players.

However, Manchester United remain in the driving seat, having already initiated formal negotiations with Brentford. Sources indicate that United are optimistic the deal will go through, with personal terms close to being finalized. Mbeumo’s approval signals a strong desire to join Erik ten Hag’s squad, who are looking to reshape their attacking department ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Should the move be completed, Mbeumo would bring much-needed dynamism and creativity to United’s frontline, offering competition and support for the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Højlund, and Marcus Rashford.

As things stand, the deal is on for Manchester United, while Spurs may need to move swiftly and decisively if they hope to turn the tide in their favor.
