Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm is reportedly attracting strong interest from Sekhukhune United, with the veteran playmaker entering the final year of his contract at the Soweto giants.
A Season to Forget for Timm
The 33-year-old midfielder has found himself on the fringes of the squad during the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign. Despite being a regular starter in previous seasons, Timm has been largely overlooked this term under former coach Jose Riveiro, who opted for the central midfield pairing of Thalente Mbatha and Makhehlene Makhaula.
As a result, Timm managed just three appearances in all competitions: two in the CAF Champions League and one in the MTN8. With his current deal expiring in June 2025, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Timm could be on his way out at the end of the season.
Sekhukhune United Set to Pounce
According to sources close to the situation, Sekhukhune United are closely monitoring Timm’s status and are eager to sign him on a free transfer ahead of the 2025/26 season.
“Sekhukhune United have a big interest in signing one of Orlando Pirates’ players, Miguel Timm, for the next season,” .
“Timm is a quality player that can add a lot of value at Sekhukhune. And when you look at the fact that they could qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup next season, his experience will come in handy.”
History Between the Clubs
This wouldn’t be the first time Sekhukhune have raided Pirates for talent. In recent windows, Linda Mntambo, Thabang Monare, Lesedi Kapinga, and Katlego Otladisa all made the switch to Babina Noko. Notably, Otladisa joined Sekhukhune on loan during the January 2025 transfer window.
Should the Limpopo-based side secure Timm’s services, they would be adding a proven PSL campaigner with continental experience to their squad — a timely boost as they look to strengthen for possible participation in CAF interclub competitions next season.
