Rodrygo’s Real Madrid future is increasingly uncertain following limited involvement under Xabi Alonso, who gave the winger just 92 minutes of action during the Club World Cup. It was a surprising omission from a player who, not long ago, was considered a core part of Madrid’s attack.

Arsenal’s main concern so far has been Rodrygo’s price. Real Madrid initially valued the Brazil international at around €90 million. However, journalist Ben Jacobs told WeAreTottenhamTV that the fee could now be reduced, especially if the player pushes for an exit.
“That exit will potentially be as high as €90m,” Jacobs said. “But I have actually heard in the past few days that the price could drop somewhat, because if the player says he doesn’t want to stay, Real are prepared to do a deal a little bit cheaper.”
Jacobs also noted that Berta has been cautious due to additional financial complications, including agent fees and player wages.
“Many of these clubs that have explored the Rodrygo deal realise it’s very expensive on the agent and the player’s side,” he added.
Still, if Madrid lower their demands, Arsenal could quickly become front-runners—especially considering Rodrygo’s preference for a top-tier club.
Tottenham Interest Rejected
North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in the 24-year-old, but Rodrygo appears to have little desire to join the Lilywhites. According to journalist Santi Aouna, the Brazilian rejected Spurs because he’s only interested in a move to a “bigger club”—a comment that will undoubtedly amuse Arsenal fans.
For Arsenal, the potential signing would be much more than just a win in the rivalry stakes. With Leandro Trossard’s future up in the air and the squad thin on elite-level wingers, Rodrygo’s arrival would provide Arteta with a versatile, Champions League-proven forward who can slot into multiple positions across the front line.
