Manchester United are only prepared to make an offer if that one condition is met.

Newcastle United have officially submitted a massive offer to RB Leipzig for Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, according to Fabrizio Romano. The proposed deal is worth a total of €90 million, with €80 million paid upfront and an additional €10 million in performance-related add-ons.

Šeško has been identified as Newcastle’s top striker target this summer. The Magpies are keen to finalize the deal quickly and have made it clear that they won’t wait forever. All eyes are now on the player, who has not yet made a final decision on his next move.

Meanwhile, Manchester United remain firmly in contention. The Red Devils have reportedly communicated to RB Leipzig that they will submit an official offer if Šeško decides that Old Trafford is his preferred destination.

This is no longer just about money or contracts — it’s about ambition, fit, and commitment. As Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim wisely put it:

“The club will only go for players that want to play for the club.”

That sentiment now echoes across top clubs like Newcastle and Manchester United. Both sides have shown clear appreciation for Šeško’s talent, but neither will be desperate. We’ve seen recent evidence of this philosophy with players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, who were also linked but only pursued further when genuine interest was mutual.

Šeško must now decide what he really wants. He’s in a fortunate position — two of England’s biggest clubs want him, but neither will beg. The 21-year-old needs to be fully committed to the project he chooses, especially with both teams undergoing critical rebuilding phases ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Time is ticking. Leipzig are open to selling, and both United and Newcastle are ready to act — if the player gives the green light. The next few days will be crucial.
