The rankings, published by Marca, provide insight into the fastest players in this season’s Champions League campaign, with Mbappe and Rashford unsurprisingly featuring prominently among this elite group of speedsters.

Mbappe, in particular, will be eager to continue terrorizing defenses as Paris Saint-Germain prepares for a high-stakes clash against Barcelona this Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rashford’s campaign came to an early end after Manchester United’s group stage elimination.

One unexpected inclusion on the list is Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, despite his limited playing time due to a ten-month ban for betting offenses. Tonali achieved an impressive top speed of 35.5km/h during matches against AC Milan, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund before facing disciplinary action.

Other notable mentions include Bayern Munich’s rapid left-back Alphonso Davies, who shares the same top speed of 35.5km/h with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and RB Leipzig’s Mohamed Simakan.

Celtic’s Daizen Maeda secured the sixth spot with an impressive speed of 35.6km/h, a pace also matched by PSG’s attacking full-back Achraf Hakimi.

Rashford claimed fourth place with a top speed of 35.7km/h, while RB Leipzig’s Luis Openda closely followed at third, also clocking 35.7km/h.

The burning question among fans was whether Kylian Mbappe, known for his explosive pace, would top the standings. However, it was Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi who stole the show with a remarkable speed of 36.3km/h, edging out the French superstar.

Furthermore, Barcelona’s fastest player in this season’s Champions League is Ronald Araujo, recording a speed of 34.5 km/h.

In addition to highlighting the top speeds, Marca also provided insights into the players who covered the most ground throughout the campaign.

The bottom five in this category included Hakimi, Atletico Madrid’s Mario Hermoso, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo, and Gabriel Jesus, with a distance covered of 90.1km.

Meanwhile, the top five featured Copenhagen’s Rasmus Falk, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, and FC Porto’s Alan Varela, with Copenhagen’s Mohamed Elyounoussi topping the charts by covering an impressive 97km.
